When you’re reading a book you don’t like, you’ll still read it all the way to the end. Which is to say, no matter how bad things are, you never lose faith that everything could turn out beautifully. Whenever I’m asked how I became such a hopeful person, my answer is that. Every hard moment is a book I don’t yet like, but I’m not about to say it’s terrible until it’s over. And nothing, and I mean nothing, is ever really over.
